TCI - Technical Career Institutes

Founded in 1909 under the leadership of Nobel Prize recipient Guglielmo Marconi, TCI was a leading center for education and development in the communications industry. Later, the school was propelled forward by graduate David Sarnoff, pioneer of American commercial radio and television, and co-founder of the National Broadcasting Company (NBC).
TCI is located in the heart of New York City, directly across from Madison Square Garden and Penn Station in Manhattan. This provides easy access via train from the five boroughs of New York as well as Northern New Jersey.
TCI offers multiple degree programs in fields such as business, digital media, healthcare, technology, and engineering. Please note that not all programs are available at all times.

Mechanic Related Programs Available:

  • Automotive Technology
  • Courses are taught using state-of-the-art industry equipment at a prestigious auto service center, the Harlem Auto Mall complex, operated by Potamkin Cadillac.
  • The curriculum combines theory with hands-on practice. As part of an automotive technician's training, you will learn to understand work orders, technical bulletins, and cost estimates and relate the information to the job at hand. You will also learn to interpret warranty policy in terms of service reports, component failures and analysis records.

"TCI offers career placement services for graduates. TCI also provides students the soft skills such as interview techniques and how to present themselves professionally to prospective employers in order to obtain jobs that will complement their technical credentials.

Because you may also be working while attending college, TCI has developed programs with flexible class schedules, which allows you to fulfill your class requirements in as little as 3 days per week.
